🏗️ Why We Need a Little TLC

While wonderful in many ways, The Art Center building is showing its age. Thanks to your support, TAC offers an array of amazing programs, events, exhibitions, and educational classes. However, if we are going to continue producing top-notch exhibitions and events, our home is desperately in need of some serious TLC.

We have compiled and prioritized a list of the most needed repairs, additions, and enhancements. While the building has other needs (such as the roof), we have limited this campaign to a targeted and tangible list totaling approximately $160,000.

TLC for TAC Projects

• Cooperate with Downtown Grand Junction to install Music to the Eyes, an Art on the Corner sculpture, in front of TAC.
• Overhaul TAC’s computer systems.
• Install motion-sensor light switches.
• Paint TAC’s exterior.
• Update the landscaping along Orchard Avenue and 7th Street.
• Install a people/visitor reader system.
• Fix and install new doors (several are unsafe).
• Redesign and refurbish the lavatories.
• Deep-clean interior and exterior.
• Security upgrades: Install a new security camera system, security fence, and key card system.
• Install an integrated sound system in the galleries.
• Permanent Collection room upgrades (shelving units).
• Paint TAC's interior.
• Update the stage light and sound systems in Studio Colorado.
• Install a central refrigerated air system in Red Door Studio.
• Resurface the front parking lot.
• Pave the rear parking lot.
• Replace the glass on the Ancient Ceramics Display.
• Repair the piano.
• Upgrade the lighting in North Gallery.
