Funding the Teen and Young Adult Scholarship and Intern Program (13-35yrs of age)

The Art Center bookstore has been a huge asset since 2009. In 2013, six class scholarships were awarded through this program for young adults and teens. Because the scholarship is need-based, it helps artists who otherwise would not have access to classes here at The Art Center.

The bookstore is now running low on inventory, we would so appreciate artists and art lovers to revisit their collections and see what books and materials would be better used by others and help fund an amazing program like the “Young Adult and Teen Intern and Scholarship Program.” This bookstore provides books and supplies to artists at an affordable cost and raises funds for young deserving upstarts in our community. We are very happy to be a vehicle to give a second life to such wonderful books and materials.

Because of this well received enterprise The Art Center will continue to sell and receive used supplies in the little class room off the Atrium Gallery, we have installed four shelving units and display a vast assortment of books for our members, students and visitors to look through.

Books are bridges from generation to generation. This recycling of knowledge and bringing in new approaches from the areas youth is part of the mission of a living center for the arts. We hope that artists and patrons will continue to feed the inventory of books and add to their own libraries. To drop off books call or stop by and see Laurie at our front desk. All donations are appreciated and tax deductible.

We would also like to acknowledge the ceramics department at The Art Center for it’s funding of teens through their annual pottery sale.
