Travel with Terry Shepherd to the legendary and historic Ghost Ranch Education &Retreat Center in New Mexico to learn about native Southwest ceramic making. The ranch's 21,000 acres of towering rock walls, vivid colors, and vast dramatic sky scenery were made famous by painter Georgia O’Keeffe. Working with Ghost Ranch ceramics instructor and accomplished artist Barbara Campbell, Terry will lead participants on a ceramic journey into traditional Southwest ceramics making. The workshop will focus on Pueblo ceramic-making technology in the Ancestral Pueblo tradition, including native clay exploration, coil and pinch technique, terra sigillata decorative slip, and pit firing.
