Come draw at The
Art Center for 8 sessions in January and
February. There is no
instructor or materials supplied.
Artists can use art center easels, tables
and drawing horses. The artists will
be supplied a model. Please do
not bring toxic or odorous materials into
the studio. Artists must be at least
18 years of age to draw from the nude
models. Artist attending Wednesdays
portrait session must be at least 15yrs old.

is an artist, designer and educator.
She is the graphic designer for the LA
Fashion Institute and her paintings were exhibited in "Sun Worshippers and
Junkyard Dogs" in 2009The
Art Center.

Morris is one of our most popular
instructors. Always thoughtful in
feedback and building of curriculum.
In this session he will teach and build on
basic techniques and approaches while
continuing on with some of those students
who have found his personal teaching skills
invaluable.
Chuck
Morris will be switching off with Martha
McCoy as a beginner and advanced student
instructor as the schedule rotates.

Experimental Watercolor Techniques and
Mixed Media

Gayle
Gerson is teaching this class to give
students lots of practice in working with
watercolor, liquid acrylics and inks to
create beautiful composition, both
representational and abstract.
Students will learn many experimental
techniques, including pouring and masking,
using different paper supports and creating
a pleasing composition that releases the
sparkle of the artist's personality.
Class time will be devoted to experimenting
with art exercises that expand creativity
and build compositional skills, allowing
plenty of time for individual work.
This class is open to all levels from the
artistic dabbler to the working artist.

Material fee for black ink, woodblocks,
paper included in tuition price.
This class
will introduce students to printmaking without a
press, focusing on relief methods.
Students will create single prints and small
editions while becoming familiar with the
printmaker's tools, terms and concepts.
Class time will be spent working blocks and
refining print techniques with time at the end
of the course reserved for guided personal
experimentation. All levels of experience
are welcome. Students may work from
photographs or original drawings.

completing this class you will be able to
identify and demonstrate a variety of
watercolor techniques. Students will
create engaging paintings, use various
compositional devices and execute simple
thumbnail sketches to finished paintings.
Your personal form of expression will be
enhanced through instructor demonstration,
use of examples, discussion, and lots of
practice. We will work from life and
from our imagination to accomplish these
goals.
