This class covers the fundamentals of wheel throwing, use of hand-tools, glaze and slip decoration, clay body, slip formulation and raw materials. Students receive individual instruction, and all skill levels are welcome.

For the beginner or experienced clay-worker, this class will explore clay selection, tools, pattern-making, pinching, coiling,
slab work, decorating and stamp-making. Hand building with Nina offers limitless possibilities for working with clay off the wheel.

If you’re looking for the opportunity to explore, refine and focus your clay work, this is the perfect class for you! This course is a continuation of Beginning/Intermediate Ceramics. Students will acquire techniques and study of form and function that include throwing, hand-building and altered thrown techniques. Raku, Saggar and other
low fire processes will be introduced.
Prerequisite - Beginning / Intermediate Ceramics class or consent of instructor.
